In the fourth quarter of 2020, sports gaming enthusiasts in Australia engaged with their favorite iOS games, leading to interesting shifts in user activity and downloads. Sensor Tower provides a closer look at the performance of these top sports games.

Miniclip.com's 8 Ball Pool™ remained a popular choice among players, with weekly active users (WAU) ranging from approximately 218K to 240K. Downloads for the game saw an upward trend towards the end of the quarter, peaking at around 7.4K in the last week of December. Revenue for the quarter started strong at around $36K but saw some fluctuation, ending at approximately $33K.

Touchgrind BMX 2, developed by Illusion Labs, experienced a decline in WAU from 15K to around 10K by the end of Q4. The game's downloads also decreased over the period, with a high of nearly 4.9K in the first week of the quarter to about 3.2K in the last. Its revenue mirrored this trend, with a starting point of roughly $2.7K and closing at around $2.2K.

The same publisher's Touchgrind Skate 2 also saw a decline in both downloads and WAU, with downloads dropping from 4K to around 2.8K and WAU decreasing from 9.2K to approximately 7.4K. Revenue figures for the game, however, showed a slight increase in the final weeks, ending at just over $1K.

2K's NBA 2K Mobile Basketball Game showed some volatility in its performance. WAU numbers fluctuated, reaching a high of around 9.6K in the third week of December. The game's downloads peaked in mid-December at nearly 4.9K. Revenue witnessed considerable swings, with a notable peak of about $16K in early November and closing the quarter at around $12K.

Lastly, the new entrant MAD FUT 21 Draft & Pack Opener by Madfut, which was released in October, saw its WAU grow impressively from 1.3K to over 11K by the end of December. Despite having no reported revenue, the game's downloads showed a decline from its initial 4.8K to approximately 1.9K.
